Announced 2026
Meta VR Glasses
VR in a pair of glasses that weighs only 100 grams.
At Connect this year, Mark unveiled what we have been working on: Meta VR Glasses. It is a VR headset that looks and wears like a pair of glasses. No straps, no weight on your forehead, only 100 grams on your face — roughly a deck of cards.
Inside that frame are micro-OLED displays behind very thin pancake lenses, plus the cameras and sensors that track your hands and show you the room around you in full color. Getting all of that into something this light meant moving compute and battery off your face, into a small companion you keep in your pocket.
What you get is a movie theater, a courtside seat and a multi-screen workspace you can take anywhere. It is the first VR device certified IMAX Enhanced, and it will carry more than 100 live US sports events a year in immersive video, alongside more than 75 games at launch.
It ships in spring 2027. I can’t wait to see it on people’s faces. Very proud of the team that got it this far!
